Subject: Novel entities in Cleasby/Vigfusson
Apologies if these have been covered before, but that are a few infrequent characters in CV not covered by the guidelines. Taking the names from the Medievalist proposal std.dkuug.dk SLASH jtc1 SLASH sc2 SLASH wg2 SLASH docs SLASH n2957.pdf I have found:
LATIN SMALL LETTER AU:
p 114, E, Section D. DIPHTHONGS
LATIN SMALL LETTER AV:
p274 hlæg-ligr
p307 HÖFUÐ
p309 HÖLDR
p333 KAUPA section B.
LATIN SMALL LETTER O WITH LOOP
p. 348 KOMA
I have transcribed these as &aulig; &avlig; and &o-loop; repsectively.
The accents in Anglo-Saxon words look like circumflexes and I have transcribed them as such. The "eth" in Anglo-Saxon (normally italic) is typographically different from the italic eth in Icelandic, but I have not distinguished it from ð - I have found about 40 of these and can locate and amend them if there is an alternative entity.
