Raul,

Sorry for the long delay in responding. I should be much more punctual now that my semester is over.

There's more than one way to answer your question. The short answer is that it really doesn't matter how you encode the data, because others can convert the data to whatever format they want.

The one really important thing is never to lose the contrast between two characters. For example, it's a major mistake to encode the Gothic character as "hw", because you'd lose the contrast with cases of "hw" that really should be "hw", as in "northwest".

If you want to follow the model of the data in some of the other texts here, that's great. It's a format which is very convenient for programmers to work with, which makes it easier to convert to other formats and to build search engines and other resources with. So, semantic tags like <GREEK> are great.

I could go into much more detail, so if you have any specific questions, that might be the easiest way to handle it.
