Subject: Bad news
Unfortunately, it looks like the current service outage will continue until around 20 August.
As I previously posted, the current outage of the search system and the corrections submission system are due to a change in the read/write permissions of certain directories.
There's only one person in a position to make the fix happen, and he's in the middle of international travel. The estimated date of service being restored, 20 August, is an approximate and is based on the best information I have at this time. There is no other way to fix the problem.
The Search system is completely down until the problem is fixed. As for the corrections system, I checked, and it's possible to reserve and download pages for correction. However, you won't be able to submit the completed pages until the problem is fixed.
I regret the unavailability. Such is the reality of a completely unfunded project. We're lucky to have the donated web space at all, so I'm grateful that we have it.
