Subject: Minor site updates
Several updates today:
--A few weeks ago, Matthew Carver noticed that the character c-tilde is not included in the character database. It has been added. (Adding a new character is actually a pretty involved process because there are so many files with dependencies on the global character database file; going down the whole checklist takes about a half an hour or so.)
--Cory Strohmeier pointed out that the glossary to Wright's Gothic grammar incorrectly lists giutan as belonging to strong verb class V. It has been corrected to class II. This was an error in the original printed text.
--The Middle High German z-tail () character was incorrectly represented as &z-hook; in Wright's glossary. This has been fixed, and the character image should now display correctly in the HTML version.
--The Wright Gothic HTML files have a somewhat convoluted history, because the major corrections on the glossary were completed in 1999, but the rest of the text wasn't OCRed until 2002. Somewhat confusingly, in the HTML files for the individual pages, the glossary pages reflected the second, uncorrected round of OCR rather than the previously corrected text. Today I wrote a script to explode the 1999 corrected glossary text into one HTML file for each page of the original glossary, replacing the second, unnecessary set of uncorrected HTML pages. (I hope that makes sense.)
