Subject: Improvements to Zoëga
I used the ImageMagick library to process the images in some of the earlier scanning projects, back in 2000-2001 or so. Apparently, ImageMagick produces TIFF files which a number of image viewers don't display correctly. I've heard that the TIFF specification allows so many degrees of freedom that it's actually pretty difficult to write a viewer which correctly handles every legitimate TIFF file.
Anyway, I cranked the old images for Zoë:ga's dictionary of Old Icelandic thru PhotoShop, since PhotoShop TIFFs seem to have fewer problems; these new versions are now available and replace the old ones. I also added PNG versions of the pages.
A while back, Keith Briggs reported that page b0261 was tilted and that part of the text was missing. I scanned a new version and posted it in TIFF and PNG formats. (Thanks, Keith!)
