As you say, this would mess up Latin. We are planning to retag the text so that we can differentiate between parts of entries. When we are there, we can conver all non-latin o-long to o-acutes, but I'd not recommend this at the moment.

I am afraid such corruptions are still to be expected. I guess some of the correctors have also carried ou arbitrary decisions on their own about diacritics over two chars. I guess the simplest would be to write the tilde either over one of the elements or both. Introducing new entity seems too complicated... What do the others think?
