The ja-stems are divided into two classes like the corresponding declension of nouns (§ 183): (í) ja-stems with a short radical syllable, and those whose stems end in a vowel; (2) ja-stems with a long stem-syllable. The latter only differ from the former in the singular. The nominal endings of (í) are the same as those of harjis (§ 184), kuni (§ 183), giba (§ 191); and of (z) haírdeis (§ 184), kuni (§ 186), bandi (§ 183). SING. Masc. Neut.
